Architectural Youth Program.
The Architectural Youth Program is an after-school enrichment program which introduces architecture and the design arts to high school freshmen through seniors, with an emphasis on serving students from minority and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Through participatory and interactive instruction, the program stresses an overview approach to architecture, exposure to the working world and academic and vocational training options. Students are recruited by the Minneapolis and St. Paul Public School Districts.
The program runs two terms per year, coinciding with the fall and spring semester of the local school calendar. Each term consists of 12 to 14 two-hour sessions, which are held two afternoons per week, beginning at the end of the school day.
